Terms of Service for SwipeLanguage

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SwipeLanguage ("the App"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SwipeLanguage is a multi-language learning mobile application that helps users learn vocabulary through swipe-based flashcard exercises, a Match Game, daily challenges, and progress tracking. The app supports 10 languages (English, Czech, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Dutch, and Polish) with 20+ bidirectional language pairs.

3. Free Version

Ad-Free: The free version contains no advertisements
Heart System: Free users have a limited number of hearts (lives) per session
Heart Regeneration: Hearts regenerate over time automatically
Full Vocabulary Access: All 1,000+ words and 24 topic categories are available

4. Premium Subscription

        Premium Monthly Subscription
        Price: As displayed in the App Store at time of purchase
Benefits: Unlimited hearts, uninterrupted learning sessions
Auto-Renewal: Renews monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal


        Premium Annual Subscription
        Price: As displayed in the App Store at time of purchase
Benefits: Unlimited hearts, uninterrupted learning sessions
Auto-Renewal: Renews annually unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal

    

Subscription Details

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription

How to Cancel Your Subscription:

Open iOS Settings on your device
Tap your name at the top
Tap "Subscriptions"
Select "SwipeLanguage"
Tap "Cancel Subscription"

Note: Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged.

5. GameCenter

Optional: GameCenter integration is optional and the app works fully without it
Leaderboards: If you use GameCenter, your scores and rankings are visible to other users
Fair Play: Manipulating or cheating scores may result in removal from leaderboards
By using GameCenter features, you agree to Apple's GameCenter Terms

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

Use the App for personal language learning purposes only
Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App
Not use automated systems, bots, or scripts
Not interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
Not violate any applicable local, national, or international law

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of SwipeLanguage — including vocabulary content, app design, user interface, software code, and learning algorithms — are owned by SwipeLanguage and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

8. Refunds and Cancellations

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store
Refund requests must be made directly to Apple via Apple Support
We do not have access to or control over Apple's refund process
Cancelling a subscription does not provide a refund for the current billing period
You retain access to Premium features until the end of your paid period

9. Educational Disclaimer

SwipeLanguage is a supplementary vocabulary learning tool. We make no guarantees regarding:

Complete language proficiency through app use alone
Specific learning outcomes or results
Readiness for official language certification exams

For comprehensive language education, we recommend combining SwipeLanguage with formal instruction and immersion experiences.

10. Privacy

Your use of SwipeLanguage is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. SwipeLanguage does not show ads, does not track users, and stores all learning data locally on your device.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

SwipeLanguage is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all devices or iOS versions.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Modifications to the App

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue the App at any time, including changes to features, supported languages, and subscription pricing with reasonable notice.

14. Termination

By You: Stop using and delete the App at any time. Cancel subscriptions through iOS Settings.
By Us: We may terminate or suspend access for violations of these Terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
